Latest Academic Performance Report/Scores for "ABC" School District (Cerritos area) From CA Dept. of Education

(October 4) Below are the most recent "Academic Performance Index" results for the "ABC" (Cerritos area) school distict released by the CA Dept. of Education.

You can view your neighborhood school's performance below. LBReport.com has downloaded and posted LB's data as well as methodology and explanatory notes from the CA Dept. of Education web site.

Last year, the State Board of Education (SBE) approved a methodology for calculating the 1999 Academic Performance Index (API) on a scale of 200 to 1000, defined an annual five-percent API growth target and established an interim statewide API performance target of 800.

Methodology and explanatory notes are posted at Methodology. (Caveat: the API methodology may make some comparisons between school districts difficult or problematic.)

The pages' hyperlinks below should work if viewed while on line. However, if you wish to access the pertinent CA Dept. of Education web site directly, it can be found at http://www.cde.ca.gov/psaa/api/fallapi/api9900reports.htm#Base.

"N/A" means a number is not applicable or not available due to missing data.

"*" means the school scored at or above the interim Statewide Performance Target of 800 in 1999.

Missing schools - some schools in the district may not appear on this list because 1999 or 2000 APIs were not generated for them. Small schools (fewer than 100 pupils with valid Stanford 9 test scores), county-administered schools, community day schools, alternative schools, continuation schools, and independent study schools are excluded from the API system. An alternative accountability system is being developed for these schools.

Note: 1999-2000 Similar Schools Growth Rank will be available in December, 2000.
